1982-92 Camaro/Firebird SC Steering Brace/Wonder Bar

Reinforce the front chassis of your third-generation F-body with the Screaming Chicken Steering Brace, commonly known as a Wonder Bar. Designed for 1982–1992 Chevrolet Camaro, Pontiac Firebird, and Trans Am models, this bolt-on brace connects the left and right front subframe rails to strengthen an area prone to flexing and cracking near the steering box.

The added reinforcement is especially valuable for performance-driven cars and vehicles equipped with wider-than-stock wheels and tires, which can place additional stress on the front chassis and steering-box mounting area.

Built for long-term strength, the Wonder Bar uses heavy-duty .120-inch-wall square steel tubing with .250-inch-thick CNC-machined steel mounting brackets. Gussets reinforce the points where the brackets meet the crossbar, and the complete assembly is fully MIG welded. A satin-black powder-coated finish protects the brace while providing a clean, understated appearance beneath the car.

This third-gen Camaro and Firebird steering brace installs using existing mounting points and factory hardware. No drilling, cutting, or permanent modifications are required. It can be used with either the factory front sway bar or an aftermarket sway bar.
