1982-92 Camaro/Firebird Kenwood DMX129BT Double DIN Radio

Add a touchscreen, Bluetooth calling, wireless music streaming, and backup-camera capability to your third-generation F-body with the Kenwood DMX129BT Double DIN Radio. 3.675" deep chassis makes this digital multimedia receiver well suited for the limited dashboard space in 1982–1992 Chevrolet Camaro, Pontiac Firebird, and Trans Am models. (see below for additional details).

The DMX129BT features a 6.75-inch capacitive WVGA touchscreen with an 800 × 480 display. Large on-screen controls provide convenient access to Bluetooth, AM/FM radio, USB media, audio settings, and a connected backup camera.

Built-in Bluetooth 5.0 supports hands-free calling and wireless music streaming from a compatible phone. A manufacturer-supplied external microphone helps provide clearer call quality.

Compatible Android phones can use wired USB screen mirroring to display and control supported phone content through the receiver. This model does not include Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. An iPhone can still connect through Bluetooth for calls and music or through USB for supported audio playback.

The rear USB connection supports MP3, WMA, WAV, AAC, and FLAC audio files along with compatible video formats. It also provides up to 1.5 amps of charging power.

A dedicated rear-camera input makes it easy to add a compatible backup camera. Adjustable on-screen parking guidelines provide additional assistance when reversing. The backup camera is sold separately.

Audio controls include a 13-band graphic equalizer, digital time alignment, high-pass and low-pass crossover settings, and subwoofer controls. Front and rear 2-volt RCA preamp outputs plus a mono subwoofer output allow external amplifiers and a subwoofer to be added later.

 Note that installation requires a double din bezel or major modifications, and this model does not support Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

1982-92 Camaro Standard Bezel - Will fit with no modifications, easy install
1982-92 Camaro Reverse Bezel - Will fit on most cars, some 1985-89 cars have less space and can be more difficult requiring modifications.
1985-92 Firebird - Will fit with no modifications
1982-84 Firebird - Needs quite a bit of cutting on the center console to fit, not visible once install is done. Requires about 3" of center console cutting.
